Include these details and we can usually resolve the ticket in one round-trip:
- Purchase email address.
- Windows version (e.g. Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Windows 10 22H2).
- DAW and version.
- Exact error or status string from the licence panel, if relevant.
- What you were doing when the issue happened — one sentence is plenty.
For activation-specific questions, the activation help page walks through every status code the plugin can show.
Common questions.
QREL doesn't show up in my DAW. Where is it installed?
The installer writes to your system VST3 folder at C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\QREL\QREL Nodes (Master).vst3 and (Track).vst3. After install, trigger your DAW's plugin re-scan — some hosts cache the previous scan and won't pick up new plugins automatically.
Is there a free trial?
Not in v1. The 14-day money-back guarantee covers you instead — buy, install, run it on a real session, and if it doesn't help, email us within 14 days for a full refund. See the refund policy for full terms.
When is the macOS version available?
v1 ships Windows-only. macOS is on the v1.1 roadmap. Email [email protected] with subject “macOS waitlist” if you want to be notified when the Mac build is ready.
Can I share one licence between Master and Track?
Yes. One licence covers both plugins. They read the same licence file on disk and unlock together.
How do I move my license to a new machine?
Open the licence panel on the old machine and click Deactivate. The seat frees up immediately. Install on the new machine and re-enter your email + key. See the activation help for the long version.
I lost access to a machine I activated on (drive failure, sold without deactivating, etc.) and I'm out of seats.
Email [email protected] with your purchase email and a brief description of what happened. We free the seat from our side — usually within a few hours.
Will QREL replace my mix engineer?
No. QREL gets you to a faster starting balance on dense sessions. Final tone, emotion, automation, and creative decisions are still yours. The honest framing: it saves the first twenty minutes of every mix; it doesn't deliver the last twenty.
Does it run offline?
Yes, after a one-time activation handshake. The plugin doesn't phone home during normal use. There's a 30-day offline grace window after each successful refresh.
Does QREL upload my audio?
No. The plugin never transmits audio data, project content, or DAW metadata over the network. Track ↔ Master communication happens entirely on your local machine's loopback interface. See the privacy policy for the exhaustive list of what does cross the network (essentially: only the activation handshake).
Why isn't there an iLok / eLicenser version?
QREL ships a built-in machine-bound licence system instead of a dongle. It's free for you (no per-seat dongle cost), self-service for transfers (deactivate and reactivate from inside the plugin), and the cached cert means offline studios just work after the first activation.
I bought via Paddle but never got the email.
Check spam first. If it's not there after 30 minutes, log in at paddle.com/account → My Account → Purchases — your key is on the order receipt. If that's missing, email us with the email address you used at checkout.
What QREL isn't yet.
We'd rather tell you up front than have you discover it during a tight session.
- Windows only at v1. v1 ships Windows VST3. macOS is on the v1.1 roadmap; if you want to be notified when the Mac build is ready, email [email protected] with subject “macOS waitlist”.
- VST3 only at v1. No AAX (Pro Tools native), no CLAP, no AU (Mac-only anyway). VST3-capable hosts cover Ableton, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, FL Studio, and Pro Tools 2023.6+ via VST3.
- Final tone and emotion are still your job. QREL is designed for first-pass balance and conflict cleanup, not for taste decisions.
- The busiest representative section produces the best baseline. Sparse intros give QREL too little material to triangulate roles and priorities.
- Major arrangement changes may trigger automatic revalidation. If you rewrite the song mid-mix, expect a brief settling pass when the scene refreshes. A manual
RESET SCENEis available as an advanced override. - Heavy parallel routing or unusual bus structures can change results. QREL assumes the standard "Track per channel, one Master on the bus" topology. Stem-style parallel returns work, but feedback loops or sidechained submixes haven't been part of the audit.
- Licensing is two machines per Solo purchase. Studio is five. Activations are movable but not unlimited.
- iLok / eLicenser is not supported. QREL ships its own built-in licence system.
- Cloud collaboration features are not in v1. Sessions stay on your machine; nothing syncs to a server.
A current copy of this list also ships inside the installer at docs/KNOWN_LIMITATIONS.md. If you spot a behaviour we didn't list, tell us — we update this page as we ship.
